It is given to you by Amata at the beginning of Escape! It does moderate damage, and can be found all over the Wasteland and in most stores that sell weapons. This is the fist real weapon you acquire.
Pistols are good for close to medium-range combat, but are no good at long range, or against tougher opponents. There are three Small Guns categories: Pistols, Rifles, and Shotguns.
Small guns are conventional weapons, meaning they fire bullets instead of lasers.
